I don’t know why I haven’t blogged about Aquaria yet. It’s a new merfolk sim that features something I’ve not seen before: Actual activity! Every time I go there, I find finned folk around. The owner, Solan Nightfire, has put countless hours of effort into creating a fun RP community for merfolk and making sure the community stays active. I haven’t been able to be around Aquaria as much as I would like, but please do go visit.
Here’s a calendar of this week’s events. I know it’s already the 20th, but I thought I might give a flavor for what goes on there:

June 19th | 9:00pm (SLT) | MUSIC NIGHT @ The Aquarian Theatre!
Come join us for a fantastic evening filled with relaxing tunes by some of the best performers in the sea. Everyone is encouraged to contact Solan Nightfire if they are interested in being on the entertainment schedule. Performers are encouraged To put out their tip jars during their performance.June 21st | 5:00pm (SLT) | SPORE HARVEST FESTIVAL @ The Temple of Posiedon!
Have you noticed the spores in the sea? Well we hope you’ve been collecting them. Our annual spore festival will be set off at the Temple of Poseidon this Saturday. At that time we will be asking everyone who has been collecting spores during this season to create a box with all of your spores in it – so they can be turned in to our panel of judges for prizes. We will then follow this cerimony with an honorary dance and other festivities in celebration of Posiedon and his blessings in our sea.June 22th | 8:00pm (SLT) | FLIP/FLOP: A MER DANCE @ Vulcus Stadium!
Join us for an exciting evening at Vulcus Stadium filled with cash and good times! We will be having a mer dance as well as a costume contest! We are looking for the BEST UNDERWATER HEADRESSES in all of the sea! 1st prize is $250 Linden, 2nd prize is $100 Linden. So We hope to see you there!
Mermaid Photography Exhibition June 2, 2008

I was invited to show some of my photography at the Twilight Gallery in SL. I’ve devoted a section of my exhibition space to my in-world mermaid escapades. I’m hoping my work might generate some more interest in mermaid culture!

Dance With The Merfolk for Relay for Life! May 28, 2008

Second Life Relay for Life is holding two mer-centric fundraising dance events for cancer research. One of them has already taken place (I was there!), but the next will be happening June 8th, so it’s not too late. Here’s the Press Release:
Dance With The Merfolk
In support of the SL Relay For Life, (SLRFL), Farhaven is hosting 2 Mer dances, one on May 25 at 12 til 2 SL & again on June 8th from 6 to 8 SL
Elf Circle is a big supporter of the SLRFL & once again has a team together for the event called Circle of Life. Leading up to the actual SLRFL weekend of July 19th will be various events culminating with the actual relay.
I will be d’jing both Mer dances & ask that any tips are donated to the SLRFL Kiosk I will have out. Also any song requests will be taken for a donation
Spot prizes will be given out too. (any vendors who would like to donate, let me know please)
Farhaven’s Mer area has dances, cuddles & even stores for Mer.

I was at the first dance, and it was a blast! I met a lot of fun new mers too, which is something we all need to do more of. Hope to see you there!
