In the interest of better-connecting Merfolk around SL, I’ve created a group for us on the social network site NING. Anyone can join. Blog, share photos, events, etc. Whatever you want, really!

I’m hoping this will give us better options to communicate and share outside of the poor SL groups system.

Diver, who is quickly becoming the mermaid blogging queen, has posted something of an update to my article on swim assists. Go read.

Partly due to my inability to be in the SL seas on a regular basis, partly due to her wild enthusiasm for al-things-mer that rivals my own, I’ve asked fellow mermaid Divergence Magic to contribute a highlight of weekly mer and seafolk-centered events and news, as she already does quite well on her own blog. Diver is well-connected to the mer-community and will have lots of great info to offer you! It certainly takes a weight off my back to know that she’s on-board.

If you’ll look in the right side bar, a little down the page, you’ll see I’ve started to collect a list of links to merfolk bloggers in Second Life. If your name isn’t on that list, please do get in touch! A comment will do nicely.

Apologies, all. I’ve been away from SL for a bit, or at least not spending as much time in world as I usually do. I do hope to be back soon with new things to share.

I don’t know why I haven’t blogged about Aquaria yet. It’s a new merfolk sim that features something I’ve not seen before: Actual activity! Every time I go there, I find finned folk around. The owner, Solan Nightfire, has put countless hours of effort into creating a fun RP community for merfolk and making sure the community stays active. I haven’t been able to be around Aquaria as much as I would like, but please do go visit.

Have you noticed the spores in the sea? Well we hope you’ve been collecting them. Our annual spore festival will be set off at the Temple of Poseidon this Saturday. At that time we will be asking everyone who has been collecting spores during this season to create a box with all of your spores in it – so they can be turned in to our panel of judges for prizes. We will then follow this cerimony with an honorary dance and other festivities in celebration of Posiedon and his blessings in our sea.

Join us for an exciting evening at Vulcus Stadium filled with cash and good times! We will be having a mer dance as well as a costume contest! We are looking for the BEST UNDERWATER HEADRESSES in all of the sea! 1st prize is $250 Linden, 2nd prize is $100 Linden. So We hope to see you there!

I was invited to show some of my photography at the Twilight Gallery in SL. I’ve devoted a section of my exhibition space to my in-world mermaid escapades. I’m hoping my work might generate some more interest in mermaid culture!
